During 2019, Rosendal Garden Foundation will start the 2000m2 research project together with the Foundation for Biodynamic Research Institute and we will be needing to strengthen our garden team.
The goal of the 2000m2 initiative is to create a miniature of a farm that respects the borders of the planet, the Baltic Sea and ourselves, all in a 2000 m2 area.
We grow biodynamically in a fixed bed system that is not plowed. We produce our own compost adding food waste and leftovers from our garden cafe and bakery and leftovers from the garden in small and Djurgården in general. Manure from ruminant animals at Skansen, a cultural heritage museum and our next door neighbor,
Outdoor cultivation of vegetables and cut flowers takes place at 1.2 ha and all plants are operated on site.
The vegetables are delivered to our on site garden café which offers lunch, sandwiches and bakes goods. We also have a large amount of private functions such as dinners, birthday celebrations and weddings. We also sell vegetables in our farm shop and during the annual harvest festival in September. Some of the harvest is also sold to other carefully selected local high end restaurants.
You have long experience of rational biodynamic / organic vegetable cultivation for direct sales. You have experience of, and enjoy working with students in practical gardening. You also have a knowledge of, and interest in major theoretical principles regarding sustainability and biodynamic cultivation as the position also includes keeping courses and views.
You have a holistic responsible view on your profession. You will be part of a larger team and collaborative skills are highly valued. We also see that you have a sense of aesthetics and is service minded.
You live as you learn and have a burning interest in sustainability, cultivation and food.
About the position
The position is full time with a ”rolling” schedule. Weekend service occurs regularly. Drivers license required. Used to working with smaller machines (bcs) and tractor. Seasonal employment with possible extension. Monthly wages by agreement.
