CAFÉ AND BAKERY
THE GARDEN THEN AND NOW
CAFÉ AND BAKERY SHOPPING AT ROSENDAL
OPENING HOURS AND MAP
Our Café, in the old greenhouses, offers hot and cold lunch dishes, salads, sandwiches, soups, cookies and cakes.
We change the menu every day, following closely the change of seasons, and using organic produce from “KRAV” farms and growers. In season, our gardeners bring fresh vegetables every morning from our own garden.
Our wines and beers are organic too, from local producers when available. All bread and pastry are freshly made from organic grain in our stone oven, fired by birchwood.
We do not make table reservations but seats are plenty both in our greenhouses and in the garden.
Catering for larger groups (25+) is booked at least one week in advance; for private lunches and dinners we set tables in the Garden or in one of our greenhouses, depending on the weather, and serve delicious set meals cooked in our own kitchen, using only organic ingredients.
For questions on party reservations, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
During the summer season and weekends our garden bar is open, where we serve wine, beer, latte/espresso, sandwiches and pastry.
THE ARTISANAL BAKERY AT ROSENDALS GARDEN
1998 was a memorable year at Rosendal: this is when our new bakery was built around a 16-ton wood-fired stone oven, using the very latest technology in fuel efficiency and heat conservation.
Working with a large stone oven is very different from conventional commercial baking; it is time-consuming, but yields bread of considerably higher quality.
We use organic flour from small scale mills and ecological producers, as part of our ambition to counterweigh the current norm: pre-fabricated doughs, industrially baked bread, and total lack of craftsmanship and human touch.
Our many varieties of bread, rolls, buns, cakes and cookies are baked fresh every day, and are sold in the Garden Shop.
In the Garden Café, our bread, pastries and delicious cakes are served with coffee or tea.
